PROPER TRAILER TOWING prevents costly equipment damage and ensures the safety of all motorists. Please use the following checklist as a guide for preparing your solar arrow board or VMB for transport:

  1. Check all wheel lugs properly tightened and all tongue bolts are secure.
  2. Make sure tongue is properly attached to the ball hitch and latch is locked.
  3. Cross the safety chains under the tongue when securing them to the tow vehicle. Adjust the length of the chains as required to insure that they are not dragging on the ground, but are long enough to accommodate turning.
  4. Connect and test stop, turn tail and clearance lights.
  5. Thoroughly inspect trailer for any loose bolts or parts.
  6. Close latch and lock all control and battery compartments.
  7. Fully lower the sign panel and ensure that all sign panel latches are secured.
  8. Check tire pressure.
  9. Connect the breakaway cable to the tow vehicle on units equipped with breaks.
  10. Raise and secure all jacks to their transport position.
Any TCS’s who have not taken the new Attenuator Truck class must schedule with Suzanne A.S.A.P.

As we slide into September, several projects will be wrapping up, however, we will be very busy through the winter (weather permitting). Please schedule any vacation requests with Pam or Gary ASAP.

Guardian Angels were watching over Little Kayla Koslinski walking south bound on Powers Boulevard between the concrete barriers in the detoured alignment. Kenda Brown coaxed the young lady over the concrete barrier to safety and Robin Smith (Wilson & Co.) immediately placed the child in her vehicle for safe keeping. They were still in the active construction zone with heavy equipment working all around. We are all very proud to have Kenda on the RMS team!
